Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic and potentially debilitating disorder that affects individuals in various aspects of life.

In order to be diagnosed with ADHD, an individual must experience symptoms of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that are long-lasting and impair their daily functioning.

The DSM-5 recognises three types of ADHD:

  1. Predominantly Inattentive
  2. Hyperactive-Impulsive and
  3. Combined.

The primary features of ADHD include inattention and hyperactive-impulsive behavior. The diagnosis and management of ADHD can involve a combination of medication, lifestyle changes, and/or psychotherapy.
