Paraphilias / Paraphilic Disorder
An intense and persistent sexual interest that results in
- personal distress about their interest, not merely distress resulting from society’s disapproval; or
- have a sexual desire or behavior that involves another person’s psychological distress, injury, or death, or a desire for sexual behaviors involving unwilling persons or persons unable to give legal consent.
Types of Paraphilic disorders:
- Voyeuristic Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from observing an unsuspecting person who is naked, in the process of disrobing, or engaging in sexual activity, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Exhibitionistic Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from exposure of one’s genitals to an unsuspecting person, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Frotteuristic Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from touching and rubbing against a nonconsenting person, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Sexual Masochism Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from act of being humiliated, beaten, bound or otherwise made to suffer, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Sexual Sadism Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from the physical or psychological suffering, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Pedophilic Disorder: Recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviours involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children (generally aged 13 years or younger)
- Fetishistic Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from the physical or psychological suffering, either the use of nonliving objects or a highly specific focus on nongenital body part(s), as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Transvestic Disorder: Recurrent and intense sexual arousal from cross-dressing, as manifested by fantasies, urges or behaviours.
- Telephone Scatalogia: Sexual arousal from obscene phone calls
- Necrophilia: Sexual arousal from corpses.
- Zoophilia: Sexual arousal from animals.
- Coprophilia: Sexual arousal from faeces
- Klismaphilia: Sexual arousal from enemas
- Urophilia: Sexual arousal from Urine.
