Dr Jesús Ramírez-Bermudez is a neuropsychiatrist at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Mexico. He has spent over 25 years working with patients with a range of rare and common psychiatric disorders

Dr Ramirez-Bermudez’s research explores the fascinating boundaries between neurology and psychiatry, as well as the history and philosophy of both disciplines.

His literary work seeks an integration of clinical narrative, literary essay, scientific communication and creative writing. In 2009, he won the Literary Essay Award from the National Institute of Fine Arts.
